Consideration of a copy of a letter from Colonel Caine urging his claims to a larger retiring allowance.
Lordship is desired to request that their Lordships will move to inform the Duke of Newcastle whether the fact of Colonel Caine's having contributed to the Superannuation Fund from his salary as Lieutenant Governor, and the other circumstances connected with his case which are represented in the enclosure to this letter, may be considered to entitle Colonel Caine to a higher rate of retired allowance than the pension of £200 which has been awarded to him.
